A small building firm led by Peter and Mark. We build new houses and extensions, put up industrial units, and do the groundworks underneath it all, right across Hampshire and West Sussex.
Who we are
A small, hands-on business.
Skeens and Wallace is run by Peter Skeens and Mark Wallace. Call us and you'll get one of us directly, and we stay hands-on from the first visit through to final sign-off. We're a small firm, so the team and tradespeople we bring onto your job are people we know and have worked with for years.
Between us we've built new houses, put up extensions and loft conversions, taken on industrial units and worked with newer methods like SIPS panels. There isn't much in the trade we haven't turned our hand to.
Our story
How we got here.
Skeens and Wallace was set up in 2023, but Peter and Mark go back a lot further than that. They first met more than forty years ago at Skeens Contractors, Peter's dad's civil engineering firm, and spent over twenty years working together there. They've been good friends ever since.
After that their careers took them in different directions. Peter went into consultancy and new build, while Mark stayed on the construction side. Then in 2021 a big building contract brought them back together, and it took everything the two of them had learned over the years. It went well, so they took on another one, and by 2023 they'd made it official as Skeens and Wallace Ltd.
They haven't looked back since. The work takes them all over Hampshire and West Sussex now, and after all these years they still care just as much about getting the details right.

We have been working with Mark and Pete for several years now across various building projects on our home. They are always keen and engaged, and offer valuable guidance to ensure projects are completed to our standard. Their work is efficient and, most importantly, tidy, and they always leave the site secure and safe at the end of each day. As with any project the customer changes their mind along the way, and we are no exception - Mark and Pete are always receptive and positive, and resolve any issues without fuss.
